Devin Wilson, a 27-year-old Air Force veteran and father of four children, was shot and killed early Sunday while trying to stop an argument at an IHOP in Memphis, Tennessee, according to WMC Action News 5

"[The kids are] asking for their daddy, they're calling for their daddy, and there's nothing that I can tell them besides he loved them," Jessica Wilson, his wife, told the station.

"Police said the shooting happened after woman who works at IHOP got into an argument with her ex-boyfriend. The argument escalated and the ex-boyfriend began choking the woman," WMC Action News 5 reported. "A security guard and another man tried to break up the altercation. The ex-boyfriend then shot the two men, according to investigators."

The station said Wilson was shot in the head, the security guard was shot in the arm.

Katina Rounds, Wilson's mother, told the station that, she "had to make the decision to let them turn the machine off and let my son go."

"Every Mother's Day will be filled with Devin's day, we can know that," she said.

WMC Action News 5 reports that no arrests have been made.
