FB: New ISR boss. 25th Air Force gets new commander.

The Air Force's newest numbered command has a new commander.

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh on Friday today announced Maj. Gen. Bradford Shwedo will serve as commander of the 25th Air Force at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. The Air Force last year stood up the 25th Air Force to oversee intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

Maj. Gen. Jack Shanahan, previously director of the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency, has overseen the command since September. The Air Force has not announced Shanahan's new assignment.

Shwedo previously served as the director of capability and resource integration at headquarters U.S. Cyber Command at Fort George Meade, Maryland.

The oOther general officer announcements today are:

  • Brig. Gen. Roy-Alan Agustin, to be director of logistics, installations and mission support at headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Agustin previously served as the director of installations and mission support at headquarters Air Combat Command at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
  • Maj. Gen. Theresa Carter, to be commander of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Carter previously served as commander of the Air Force Installation and Mission Center (Provisional) at Joint Base Andrews-Naval Air Facility Washington, Maryland.
  • Maj. Gen. Andrew Mueller, to be chief of safety and commander of the Air Force Safety Center at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. Mueller previously served as the component commander, E3A, for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Airborne Early Warning and Control Force at headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Geilenkirchen, Germany.
  • Brig. Gen. Bradley Spacy, to be director of expeditionary support at the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center. Spacy previously served as director of logistics, installations and mission support at headquarters USAFE.
