More than 14,000 Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard members were unvaccinated as of Friday, a day after the deadline for receiving the shots. The jobless rate among younger veterans saw an increase from October to November. The deadline for some VA workers to get vaccinated passed two months ago. Guardsmen who refuse vaccination will not be able to participate in any drills or federal training, which could jeopardize their ability to stay in the military. A recent policy change affects passengers age 2 and older. More than 50,000 VA staffers have yet to get vaccinated against the virus. After pandemic deaths doubled over late summer and fall, the military hasn't had any in two weeks. Nearly 97 percent, or 316,000, of the 326,000 active duty airmen are fully vaccinated.
