Need to return a gift you bought at the exchange in November, or later? If you’re buying from the military exchanges, you’ll have until late January to return items that didn’t fit or weren’t to someone’s liking.

Restrictions apply on what can be returned, so check with your exchange. Here are the basic return policies:

Navy Exchange stores and online: For purchases made between Oct. 25 and Dec. 24, returns will be accepted through Jan. 27. Customers should include any packaging material along with the receipt when making a return; any returns without a receipt will be placed on a Navy Exchange gift card.

Marine Corps Exchange: For purchases made on or after Nov. 1, MCX will allow returns by Jan. 31. If the standard 45-day return policy supersedes the Jan. 31 end date, it will be recognized. Computers, tablets and software must be returned unopened. To return gifts at an MCX store, bring the item with receipt, original packaging and accessories.

Army and Air Force Exchange Service stores and online: Purchases made between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24 can be returned through Jan. 31, with store sales receipt or online order confirmation.
