The Air Force has chosen 489 first lieutenants for promotion to captain, the Air Force Personnel Center said Friday.
The list of selectees includes 347 Line of the Air Force officers, 59 judge advocates general, 40 Nurse Corps officers, 31 Medical Service Corps officers, and 12 Biomedical Sciences Corps officers. All but one above-the-zone MSC officer were in the promotion zone.
There were 498 first lieutenants up for promotion, resulting in an overall 98.2 percent selection rate.
Of the LAF officers selected for promotion, 89 were pilots, 34 were navigators, 10 were air battle managers, 77 were non-rated operations officers, and 137 were mission support officers. One pilot, one navigator and two non-rated ops officers were passed over; all air battle managers and mission support officers who were considered were promoted.
