Police in Boulder, Colorado, have charged an Air Force Academy cadet with second-degree kidnapping and sexual assault.
Daniel Ryerson, 21, was booked in the Boulder County jail on Jan. 16, according to online jail records.
The Colorado Springs Gazette, which first reported on the arrest, said Ryerson is a junior at the academy.
Boulder police did not immediately respond to a telephone message for more information on the alleged incident, and no court information was available Monday.
The Gazette, citing jail records, reported that Ryerson is accused of sexually assaulting a helpless person and moving the person against his or her will.
In an email statement, academy spokesman Lt. Col. Brus Vidal said school officials are aware of the arrest of a cadet on charges relating to an alleged sexual assault.
"We are cooperating fully with the Boulder Police Department and allowing their judicial process to take its course," Vidal said in the email. "The Academy will continue to closely monitor the situation and cooperate with Boulder [police] while, at the same time, providing support to the cadet during the arrest and investigation process."
