Troops forced to serve apart from their dependents will now get up to $400 a month in extra financial help.
Nine current and future parents contacted Air Force Times about their struggles to secure approval to leave the military early due to childbirth.
The changes aim to keep more service members in the air and in uniform, the service said.
“No airmen are being, or will be, involuntarily extended beyond their desired retirement or separation dates."
