“Apocalypse ’45” can be viewed in select “virtual” theaters from August into September. The film is coming to more than 100 theaters across the U.S. starting on Aug. 21. The miniseries premieres this Memorial Day, May 25. The series is projected to run about eight episodes long, with production costs exceeding $200 million. The film details a series of murders by U.S. soldiers that took place during a 2010 deployment to Afghanistan’s Maywand District. “The Cold Blue” will premiere in theaters via Fathom Events for one day only. The film’s true brilliance lies in its situational hysteria, an unpredictability that serves as a microcosm of a war with no end. What do ballet slippers and combat boots have in common?
