A military jury on Friday found Senior Airman Charles Amos Wilson III guilty on charges he struck a technical sergeant who was his girlfriend at the time of their altercation.
Wilson was sentenced to six months of confinement and a reduction in rank from senior airman, the Macon Telegraph reports. He was found not guilty on other related charges in this case.
Proceedings against Wilson, 28, assigned to the 461st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, were broken up into three courts-martial in April.
On June 2, during his first court-martial, Wilson was found not guilty of felony murder, aggravated arson, conspiracy and other charges in the death of friend Demetrius Hardy, a civilian employee at Robins, as part of what authorities described as said was an insurance-fraud scheme. The 28-year-old Wilson also was also found not guilty of conspiracy and other charges related to the death of Prosecutors had alleged that Hardy Demetrius Hardy, a civilian employee at Robins, who allegedly set fire to Wilson's trailer so the two men could to collect insurance money. Hardy died several days later from injuries sustained in the blaze.
Wilson will stand trial one more time for the alleged premeditated murder of his fiancée, Tameda Ferguson, and her unborn child in 2013. He for which he could face the death penalty if convicted. In the case decided Friday, Wilson, 461st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, was tried for the July 2012 an alleged assault on Tech. Sgt. Denise Forrest during an argument over a phone, the Telegraph reported. a female technical sergeant in July 2012. In addition to hitting Forrest, authorities alleged that Wilson allegedly held a gun to her head in a threatening manner, discharged it in her presence by shooting out of the window into a vacant field behind his home, and, later drove drive his pickup truck toward her in a threatening manner, among other charges. He found not guilty on those charges.
He was found guilty of hitting retired Tech. Sgt. Denise Forrest during their argument over a phone, the Telegraph said.
Following his conviction, Wilson's counsel successfully argued that he had already been held in jail for more than 2.5 years, was held in confinement longer than the maximum six-month periodsentence that could have been levied on the assault charge. Wilson served in pretrial confinement for more than 2.5 years. His sentence amounted to time served. accounted for time served.

Wilson was arrested in August 2013 and charged with killing Ferguson, who was 8½ months pregnant at the time. She was found shot to death at her home in Dawson, Georgia, about 100 miles south of Robins.
The date for the final court-martial has not been scheduled.
