The operations officer at the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, is accused of sexually abusing two girls over eight many years, according to military court documents.
A charge sheet alleges that Capt. Ryan A. Hardy committed numerous acts of sexual abuse of the girls in Germany and the U.S. between 2005 and 2013.
The charge sheet does not specify how Hardy knew the alleged victims, whose names are redacted.
He is also accused of destroying his personal computer, external hard drives and cell phones to impede the investigation.
Keith Scherer, Hardy's lead counsel, declined to comment for this story and said Hardy is not talking to the media.
Hardy is not in pretrial confinement, said Juan R. Meléndez Jr., a spokesman for the 86th Airlift Wing at Ramstein.
Hardy is charged with 19 specifications in violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, including sexual assault, committing sodomy with a child under the age of 16, sexual contact with a child under the age of 16, causing bodily harm and related offenses, the charge sheet says.
The names of the victims have been redacted from the charge sheet, which does not specify how Hardy knew them.
Hardy is accused of repeatedly watching pornographic movies with at least one of the girls, the charge sheet says. On one occasion, he allegedly offered to buy one of his alleged victims a vibrator and show her how to use it.
He is also accused of telling one of his alleged victims, "It's better to be a girl because you can orgasm several times but a guy can't and that's no fun," the charge sheet says.
Hardy He is also accused of destroying his personal computer, external hard drives and cell phones to impede the investigation.
Hardy's court-martial is slated for April 20 at Ramstein, according to the Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps' online docket.
