SAN ANTONIO — A jury has found an Air Force master sergeant guilty of raping a recruit he was training two decades ago at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

The San Antonio Express-News reports that the jury on Thursday also found Air Force Master Sgt. Michael Silva guilty in a 2007 rape of a woman in Wyoming. During sentencing he could get up to life in prison without parole.

Silva had been charged with raping three women. He was found not guilty in a rape that prosecutors said occurred in North Carolina in the early 1990s.

Dozens of instructors at Lackland have been accused of raping, sexually assaulting and abusing trainees.
