The Iran nuclear deal will dominate Capitol Hill headlines for one more week, as Congress approaches a Sept. 17 deadline to respond to President Obama's plan.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., already has indicated he will force a second vote on moving forward with a disapproval resolution, even though Senate Democrats sidelined that attempt once.
House leaders also are expected to try a series of legislative maneuvers to disapprove of the deal, but don't appear to have enough support in their chamber to succeed.
Once those fights subside, lawmakers will have to deal with the next looming deadline: the end of the fiscal year, and the end of federal budget authorities. If a new budget plan or continuing resolution is not in place by Oct. 1, a partial government shutdown would result.
