Old military aircraft to be moved by helicopter

COLCHESTER, Vt. — Two historic Vermont Air National Guard aircraft are going to be airborne again with help from a U.S. Marine helicopter.

The Guard says the planes will be moved Thursday from the Air Force base at the Burlington International Airport in South Burlington to the Vermont National Guard Museum at Camp Johnson in Colchester.

The planes will be carried by a Marine CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopter.

The planes that will be moved are an EB57 Canbera bomber, a model that flew from the 1950s through the 1980s. The other plane is an F-89 Scorpion, which flew from 1950 to 1969.
