Investigators are trying to determine how an airman at Kunsan Air Force Base, South Korea, died, said Capt. Reba Good, spokeswoman for the 8th Fighter Wing.

Airman 1st Class Kevin Welsh, of the 8th Security Forces Squadron, was found dead in his dorm room on June 4, Good told Air Force Times.

Good declined to say how Welsh's body was found or if foul play has been ruled out because the investigation into the death is ongoing.

Because the case is open, no details about the investigation are releasable, said Linda Card, a spokeswoman for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

"Kevin was a proud Defender of the Wolf Pack," Lt. Col. Ian Dinesen, 8th Security Forces Squadron commander, said in a news release. "Our squadron is grieving this tragic loss along with his family back home. He will surely be missed here at Kunsan."
