Patients and staff at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center who prefer combatives to candy may be in luck this Halloween.

Marine veteran-turned-pro mixed martial artist Shane Kruchten will join fellow representatives of the Professional Fighters League to give a two-hour seminar Oct. 31 at the Bethesda, Maryland, center, the league announced. The Halloween event comes two days before PFL fighters take part in the annual charity Fight Night card in Washington, D.C.

Other participants include two-time Olympic judo gold medalist Kayla Harrison and Ray Sefo, a multi-time world kickboxing champion and PFL president.

Sefo served in a similar capacity with the World Series of Fighting; PFL’s ownership took over WSOF operations in January.

Kruchten fought under the WSOF banner on New Year’s Eve at Madison Square Garden, besting fellow Marine veteran Jeremy Mahon to improve to 12-3 on his pro career. Learn more about those fighters and their service history here.

The Walter Reed event is in partnership with Ranger Road, a California-based charity that supports service members in their transition to the civilian sector.

The two-hour seminar is set for 10 a.m.
