The Air Force has selected 1,955 officers for promotion to captain, the Air Force Personnel Center said Tuesday.
The overall selection rate for the 2015B quarterly selection process for captain promotions was 99 percent, slightly higher than the 98.1 percent selection rate during the previous captain promotions, which were announced in late June.
Among those most recently selected for the 2015B quarterly selection process for captain promotions were 1,817 Line of the Air Force first lieutenants. There were also 49 nurses, 19 judge advocates general, 50 Biomedical Sciences Corps first lieutenants, 19 Medical Service Corps first lieutenants and one chaplain.

There were 1,974 first lieutenants up for promotion, 1,961 of whom were in the promotion zone. Of those in-the-zone officers, 14 of the 1,823 eligible LAF first lieutenants were passed over for a selection rate of 99.2 percent, and one of the 51 eligible BSC officers was passed over, for a promotion rate of 98 percent. All eligible in-the-zone officers in the other categories were selected for promotion.
The remaining 13 eligible officers were above-the-zone, and nine of them were selected. Four of the 12 above-the-zone LAF officers were passed over, and the sole above-the-zone nurse was selected for promotion.

A breakout of the 1,817 LAF selectees also showed which jobs got the most promotions.
All but one of the 669 in-the-zone pilots considered for promotion were selected; all 123 in-the-zone navigators were selected, and all but one of the 47 in-the-zone air battle managers were selected.
Of the 316 non-rated ops career fields that were in-the-zone, four were passed over. And all but eight of the 668 in-the-zone mission support officers were selected for promotion.
The only above-the-zone pilot got passed over, one above-the-zone navigator got selected, all three above-the-zone non-rated ops officers got selected, and four of the seven above-the-zone mission support officers got promoted.
