A senior airman is accused of raping, assaulting and threatening a woman in New Mexico between 2012 and 2014, according to court records.
Senior Airman Nicholas Stathatos, with the 377th Security Forces Squadron at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, faces charges that he threatened to kill or beat a woman if she would not have sex with him in 2012, according to documents filed with the Air Force’s Judge Advocate General’s office.
Stathatos faces several other charges that he abused the woman between 2012 and 2014, including allegedly grabbing her by the throat, pointing a gun at her head, twisting her limbs, and striking her in the chest, court records show.
The charges also state that Stathatos threatened to hurt the woman “if she reported him to law enforcement.”
The Air Force Times could not reach Stathatos or his legal counsel for comment.
Stathatos joined the Air Force in June 2009, personnel records show.
A court-martial trial is set for Dec. 8.
