Capt. Edward Hudson has been sentenced to three years after being found guilty of committing indecent acts with a girl under age 16 in 2006, said Oscar Balladares, spokesman for Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

Hudson was found guilty at his March 19-27 court-martial, Balladares said in an email.

According to Balladares, Hudson was originally tried in 2007. However, in October 2013, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces set aside the trial results and authorized a rehearing. In March 2014, the current charge was to a trial by general court-martial.

Hudson, who is still in the Air Force, is not in confinement because his sentence has been deferred pending a post-trial review of his case, Balladares said. His sentence includes being dismissed from the Air Force. If that part of his sentence is ultimately approved, he would be placed on unpaid appellate leave until his appeals are complete.
