About two dozen F-15 fighter jets will be busy during scheduled rotations across Europe, some participating in exercises all the way through September. 

Twelve F-15E Strike Eagles and approximately 260 airmen from the 48th Fighter Wing, RAF Lakenheath, England, are participating in Exercise INIOHOS at Andravida Air Base, Greece, alongside Hellenic and Israeli air forces. The two-week long exercise began April 1, Col. Robert Novotny, the 48th Fighter Wing commander, said on his Facebook page

Another dozen twelve​ F-15Cs and about 350 airmen from the 131st Fighter Squadron, Barnes Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts, and the 194th Fighter Squadron, Fresno Air National Guard Base, California, headed out to the European continent Friday, the Air Force said in a release.

Four F-15s will be at Keflavik Naval Air Station, Iceland, to support the NATO air surveillance mission until the end of the month; the remaining eight jets will be at Leeuwarden Air Base, Netherlands, to participate in Exercise Frisian Flag.

Just making that distinction here//OP​ are deploying for a routine theater security package to the bases under Operation Atlantic Resolve, the Defense Department's effort to reassure partners and allies as Russia continues to make incursions into Ukraine to fight alongside its rebels.

Frisian Flag is an international flying exercise designed "to bring fighter aircraft from multiple countries together to work on interoperability, planning and execution," the service said. 

The TSP, a rotation that generally lasts six months, will also forward deploy to other NATO and partner nations including Bulgaria, Estonia and Romania.
