Technical Sgt. David Bingham, an airman assigned to the 10th Medical Operations Squadron at the Air Force Academy in Colorado, was convicted at court-martial of possessing a child pornography image, the academy announced Tuesday.

Bingham was sentenced to six months of confinement, a demotion to E-1, the lowest enlisted rank, and a dishonorable discharge from the Air Force, the academy said in a release. He will also receive a reprimand.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reported last month that a co-worker saw the child pornography image on Bingham’s computer in 2016 when he gave the co-worker his computer to be repaired.

He faced up to 10 years in confinement, the Gazette reported.

Bingham entered active duty in 2001, and was a physical therapist in the 4J072 physical medicine career field.
