Lt. Gen. Bruce Litchfield, commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center, announced Thursday today he will retire.
Litchfield is a career logistics officer who spent 34 years in the Air Force, including as the commander of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center and the director of logistics for Pacific Air Forces. He has spent almost 34 years in the Air Force.
At the Sustainment Center, Litchfield oversaw the entire supply chain and depot maintenance system for the Air Force. He commanded three logistics complexes, three air base wings, and more than 32,000 personnel.
Litchfield will retire June 5.
The Air Force announced that Maj. Gen. Lee Levy will receive his third star and take over command of the Sustainment Center. Levy is currently the vice director for logistics for the joint staff at the Pentagon.
The service also announced that Col. Steven Bleymaier, the director of staff at Air Force Materiel Command, will assume command of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
