A Nevada judge didn't immediately rule whether a Saudi Arabian air force sergeant deserves a new trial following his conviction in the rape of a 13-year-old California boy on New Year's Eve 2012.

The judge said Friday she'll issue a written decision in coming days.

Mazen Alotaibi's attorneys argue he deserves a new trial because a witness now admits he lied during testimony about how intoxicated Alotaibi was the night of the incident at the Circus Circus hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.

Prosecutors argue the witness admits he's a liar, and his different account wouldn't change anything.

Jurors found the 25-year-old Alotaibi guilty last October of kidnapping, sexual assault, lewdness and other charges.

He's facing at least 35 years in state prison, but sentencing has been postponed several times.
