Line: Michigan State by 26 1-2.
Series Record: First meeting.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
Michigan State is trying to avoid a letdown after edging Oregon 31-28 in last weekend's marquee matchup. The Spartans now have a chance to get on a roll that would set up a showdown with Ohio State in November, but they'll need to remain focused against the upset-minded Falcons.
KEY MATCHUP
Michigan State's linebackers against Air Force's option. The Spartans were sufficiently concerned about Air Force's unusual running game that they began practicing against it a bit last month during fall camp. The Falcons haven't played anyone of Michigan State's caliber yet, but their system is the type that can produce a credible upset bid if the Spartans don't adjust.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Air Force: QB Karson Roberts. Nate Romine injured his leg in last week's game, so it looks like Roberts will be the man to lead the Falcons against Michigan State's well-tested defense.
Michigan State: RB LJ Scott. The Spartans entered the season with a number of unproven options in the backfield, but the freshman Scott scored two touchdowns against Oregon, and it will be interesting to see if anybody emerges as the featured back.
