A seven-member Air Force panel is still weighing the sentence for an airman convicted of murdering his roommate while they were deployed to Guam in March 2018, according to the Shreveport Times.
Airman 1st Class Isaiah Edwards was found guilty Thursday of unpremeditated murder in the March 27, 2018, stabbing death of Airman 1st Class Bradley Hale in their shared living quarters at Andersen Air Force Base.
Prosecutors have asked for a sentence of life without parole, according to the Times report. The defense is seeking no more than 10 years in prison.
The two airmen were both assigned to the 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Barksdale Air Force’s Base as electronic warfare journeymen, working on B-52s.
The panel deliberated for more than two hours on Friday afternoon, and will resume Tuesday at the federal courthouse in Shreveport, according to the Times report.
