Civilian contractor killed in accident at Boone National Guard Center

FRANKFORT, Ky. — A civilian contractor has died and another has been injured in an accident at the Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort.

Kentucky Department of Military Affairs spokesman David W. Altom said in an email that the accident happened around 11:45 a.m. EDT Monday when a boom lift collapsed and fell. The coroner has identified the man who died as 23-year-old Brandon Cloud of Harlan County.

The injured worker was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

His name has not been released.

A military official says the men were installing siding on an aircraft hangar. The cause of the accident has not been determined.
