An airman with the 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard died Sunday after falling from a fifth-story window in Kadena, Japan, according to a news release from the wing.
The airman has not yet been identified pending next of kin notification, but the 115th Fighter Wing has posted a message on its Facebook page saying that the airman's family had been contacted and the airman's name is expected to be released late Monday.
About 250 airmen and 13 F-16s are currently deployed to Kadena Air Base in support of the Pacific Command Theater Security Package, which is able to be called upon for disaster relief, anti-piracy operations and other missions, the news release says.
The news release did not include any details on the circumstances of the airman's death. The airman was pronounced dead at 9:51 a.m. on Sunday after being transported to a hospital at Camp Foster.
