The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says American passengers of the Grand Princess cruise ship will be taken to military bases in California, Texas and Georgia to be tested for the COVID-19 virus and for a 14-day quarantine.
The April 8 event will be the next iteration of the military’s Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) exercises, taking place at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, and Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The demonstration will test the military's interoperability with SpaceX’s Starlink satellite constellations.
U.S. officials on Thursday announced the country’s 15th confirmed case of the new coronavirus — an evacuee from China who had been under quarantine in Texas.
The flights are carrying 350 passengers and will head to Travis Air Force Base and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California, according to the Pentagon.

This afternoon, the Pentagon announced that Secretary of Defense Dr. Mark T. Esper approved a request for assistance from the Department of Health and Human Services to house 1,000 people who may need to be quarantined upon arrival from overseas travel due to the novel coronavirus.
