As the 20th chief master sergeant of the Air Force, David Flosi becomes the primary enlisted adviser to the service’s secretary and chief of staff.
The Air Force is encouraging units to recognize the achievements of enlisted airmen as they become noncommissioned officers.
Flosi was the “clear choice” among the Air Force’s “most highly respected” enlisted leaders, the service said.
“It may be that we completely break the [Air Force Specialty Code] structure," said Lt. Gen. Caroline Miller, the service's personnel chief.
