The award comes months after reports that Moore claimed the award on a 2006 White House fellowship application when the paperwork had not been processed.
Included in the awards and decorations the now-sergeant deceptively wore were the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon and Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
The awards honor the airmen’s “highest-caliber bravery and tenacity” during the largest evacuation of noncombatants in Air Force history, the service said.
