Active-duty officers who hope to become pilots ― flying both manned aircraft and remotely-piloted aircraft ― combat systems officers or air battle managers now have a shot at realizing their dream.

The Air Force Personnel Center said Wednesday that the application period for the 2019 undergraduate flying training selection board is now open. Officers who want to be considered by the board must submit their complete applications, including approved waivers and exception-to-policy requests, to AFPC by Sept. 21.

The board will meet in November.

AFPC said applicants must have a medical flight screening and be certified as physically qualified, and encouraged them to start the application process early.
