The Air Force announced Friday that 298 active-duty officers have been selected for promotion to colonel, lieutenant colonel and major.

The officers selected are in the Air Force’s Judge Advocate, Nurse Corps and Chaplain fields.

The boards selected 17 lieutenant colonels for promotion to colonel, 36 majors for promotion to lieutenant colonel and 246 captains for promotion to major, according to a master list provided by the Air Force Personnel Center.

For the competitive category of Judge Advocate General, about 39 percent of those who were considered in the promotion zone were selected for the rank of colonel, according to the list provided by AFPC.

In the Nurse Corps, about 40 percent of officers in the promotion zone were selected for promotion to lieutenant colonel.

Additionally, the boards selected only one individual out of 71 for a below-the-zone promotion to colonel in the category of Judge Advocate General.

Similarly, the boards selected three out of 159 candidates for below-the-zone promotions to lieutenant colonel within the Nurse Corps.

The selection for major, however, yielded an above 90 percent selection rate for those in the promotion zone in the Judge Advocate General and Nurse Corps career fields, according to the AFPC. It was slightly lower for the chaplains, who saw about an 80 percent selection rate.
