VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — More than a year ago, the officials who set the standard for first aid and life-saving equipment needs across the services added a new requirement for a crucial piece of gear: a pelvic binding strap.

That item can keep a patient more stable when transported and reduce further exacerbation to major injuries such as a pelvic fracture.

Cromedical Gear recently showcased their offering of a pelvic binder alongside their Gunfighter Belt and other medic and corpsman-focused equipment, during this year’s Warrior East Expo, put on by ADS, Inc.

The company’s gear is designed by the company founder, who is a former Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman, or SARC.

The binder is a lightweight, 5-inch elastic double back wrap with a one-hand mechanical advantage for tightening. It includes a smaller ankle binding strap to complete stabilization quickly.

The Gunfighter Belt, also on display, serves as the centerpiece of the on-the-body gear spread that the company offers. It has multiple attachments for various gear placement, and it allows the user to swing it around the waist to more easily access different pieces of the medical kit.
