An Air Force captain has been acquitted of rape charges in a court-martial, the Judge Advocate General's office announced.

Capt. Allen Pearson was accused of raping a woman July 7, 2014, at or near Maui, Hawaii. Court records did not discuss how he allegedly met or knew the woman. Pearson pleaded not guilty to the charges.

A military judge ruled Oct. 6 that Pearson was not guilty on all four specifications. Court records available immediately after the trial did not discuss the judge's reasoning for the verdict.

Pearson is expected to return to duty at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, where he is stationed with the 552nd Training Squadron as part of Air Combat Command.

Air Force Times could not reach Pearson or his legal representative for comment.

Pearson joined the Air Force in August 2010 and has received the Air Force Achievement Medal, according to personnel records.
