Two more of the 52 service members who were killed in 1952 when a C-124 Globemaster II crashed in Alaska have been identified, the Air Force announced on Thursday.

The Armed Forces Medical Examiner at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, recently completed the identification of Air Force Capt. Walter Perrin Tribble and Airman 2nd Class Bernis F. White, whose remains were recovered from the Colony Glacier in 2014, officials said.

Their families will be offered burial with full military honors, according to an Air Force news release.

A total of 19 of the service members aboard the plane have been identified since the crash site was rediscovered in 2012. The latest sets of remains were recovered in 2014 and 2015.

The remains of two other service members were recovered in 2014, but the identification process will take weeks more, said Col. Ladd Tremaine, director of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System.

Tonja Anderson-Dell, whose grandfather was aboard the plane, welcomed the news that more of the service members had been identified and she hopes the other remains recovered in 2014 will be identified soon.
