A 62nd Airlift Wing airman was found dead on Tuesday at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.

Airman Cody Watt, an aerospace propulsion apprentice assigned to the 62nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, was found in his on-base dormitory, according to an Air Force news release.

Watt enlisted in the Air Force in October 2016 and had been at JBLM since March 2017.

“This loss comes as a shock and is felt deeply,” Col. Rebecca Sonkiss, 62nd Airlift Wing commander, said. “We are all grieving alongside Airman Watt’s family and extend our sincere condolences to them during this time of great personal loss.”

The cause of death is under investigation, but the release said no foul play is suspected at this time.
