Air Force leaders and their families recently sent holiday greetings to their troops, with a special emphasis on those who are deployed or otherwise can't make it home.

"We are both extremely proud to serve beside you and wish you a joyful holiday season and a happy new year," Chief Master Sgt. James Cody and his wife, Athena, said in a video.

Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James and her husband, Frank Beatty, featured Air Force Band singers in their video. The holidays can be stressful for those in service, James said, urging airmen to be there for each other.

"After all, being a wingman is so important," James said. "Not just during the holidays, but also throughout the entire year."

Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh and his wife, Betty, thanked eatured airmen in their holiday greetings, thanking airmen for their service.

"We're proud of all of you, for your selfless service and for your commitment to this great nation," Welsh said.
