NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A veteran of the Iraq War and Gulf War is set to assume command of the New York Air National Guard's 107th Airlift Wing in Niagara Falls.

A change of command ceremony is scheduled at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station for Saturday afternoon.

Col. Robert Kilgore will take over the 600-member wing from Col. John Higgins, who has been at the base about a year.

The 48-year-old Kilgore has been with the 107th Airlift Wing since 1997 and is a command pilot.
