The Air Force's flight demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, will kick off their 2015 season with an Feb. 1 show appearance at the Super Bowl on Feb. 1 in Phoenix.

The year's team will have a full schedule includes 2015, including air shows, sporting events and the Air Force Academy graduation. Typically, the team spends about 220 days per year on the road.

"We are extremely excited to represent the Air Force during the upcoming season," said Lt. Col. Greg Moseley, the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron commander and lead pilot, said in a release. "Our newest team members have been training rigorously to ensure we execute our mission safely while showing the public what their Airmen can do."

Moseley will hand over command of the team on Jan. 7, before their first show. Lt. Col. Christopher Hammond, the director of operations for the 16th Fighter Squadron at the Air Force Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, will take command.
