Gunslingers will take note of three new grips and ammo holders for ’08. The lowdown:

Command Arms Accessories

Improve your muzzle control and accuracy with CAA’s new Pivot Pod Grip. Here’s how it works: While firing from the prone position on the ground, simply press a button to engage the grip’s bipod legs. Fully extended, it’s 7.8 inches.

Pinned down on an uneven surface? You’re covered. The legs are springy, allowing you to pivot off center up to 60 degrees to the right or left while preserving your sight picture. They’ll recenter themselves once you lift your weapon off the ground.

Ergo Grip

The hand-friendly Ergo Tactical Grip is one of those nifty SHOT Show finds we felt obligated to share with you. Designed to reduce hand fatigue and “slippage,” these M16 grips come in two styles: “rigid” and “suregrip.” The former is a hard polymer that has a firm feel. The latter has the texture and give of a pencil eraser — “grip with a little give,” they call it. Each is built with a rubber plug in the base. Open it and you’ve got a small compartment to stow a battery or lanyard.

Spec-Ops Brand

The CBQ 6 Mag Pouch was developed to accommodate current quick-release, over-the-head body armor. Tote six magazines within a small space on your vest. The pouch’s pockets are open at the top, allowing you to get to your ammo quickly. Just undo the cloth strap, and the magazine will slide right out. You can even stuff a pistol or radio in a free pocket.
