Do you have an Army-Navy story to share?

It may not be the most important game in terms of national standings. But during times of war, the annual Army-Navy football game takes a place of national significance uniquely its own.
Players soon will be fighters, attendees will be saying goodbye to their moms and dads. All of America watches the familiar and beloved rituals of the gridiron as they turn that special afternoon into a salute to the U.S. armed forces.
USA Weekend wants to celebrate that tradition, and the magazine is inviting Military Times readers to help. Share your own stories of going to a past Army-Navy game and how it connected to your service for this country or the service of someone you love.
Was your son the running back who scored the winning touchdown and later saved a platoon in Vietnam?
Did your daughter have the day of her life attending the game the year before she deployed to Baghdad?
Or did you simply wear your uniform proudly that Saturday long ago — or last year — for an unforgettable afternoon of pride and patriotism?
USA Weekend wants to share your stories with America. In the magazine’s Nov. 25 issue, they’ll publish those memories that most touchingly link the Army-Navy game with the ideals of service to the country. USA Weekend is carried in 600 U.S. newspapers, with a circulation of more than 23 million.
E-mail your responses to usaw@usaweekend.com and write “Army-Navy” in the subject header; please include a daytime phone number with your submission. This year’s game is Dec. 1, a day when even more memories will be made.
