The Air Force has completed a draft Environmental Impact Statement and is ready to present it to the public Monday night. Nearly a year ago, plans were announced to consider replacing the F-16 Fighting Falcon with the F-35 Lightning ll as the primary training aircraft at the Glendale base.

KTVK-TV reports that while Luke is considered the first choice of the Air Force, other bases under consideration include Boise Air Terminal, Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., and Tucson International Air Guard Station. A decision is not expected until early July.
