ERIE, Pa. — A family spokesman says 23-year-old Bryan Bell of Harborcreek, Pa., was killed in Afghanistan on Thursday.

The Erie Times-News reports that Bell served in the Air Force’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal division and was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, La.

A family spokesman says Bell’s parents, Rick Bell and Donna Aldrich, of Harborcreek, received notice of their son’s death Thursday.

Bell joined the Air Force in 2006. The paper reports that he had been serving in Afghanistan since the beginning of November.

Bell’s wife Alaina, who lives in Louisiana, is currently traveling to Erie.
