Little Rock airman killed in car crash

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Military officials on Saturday said an airman at Little Rock Air Force Base has died in a traffic crash in central Arkansas.

A statement released by the 19th Airlift Wing said Airman 1st Class Kyle Truitt, 23, was injured when his vehicle collided with a car on Arkansas Highway 107 in Sherwood on Thursday. Officials say Truitt died at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sherwood on Thursday night.

Lt. Col. George Johnson, who commands the 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, said Truitt’s wingmen will miss him dearly.

Military officials say the crash is under investigation.
