Airman pleads guilty to child porn possession

DOVER, Del. — A Dover Air Force Base sergeant charged by federal authorities with transporting child pornography has pleaded guilty to a single count of possessing child pornography.

Staff Sgt. Christopher Brandli of Wyoming, Del., faces up to 10 years in prison after entering the plea Monday in federal court in Wilmington. He will be sentenced on Feb. 29.

In return for the plea, prosecutors agreed to drop other counts of transporting and receiving child pornography.

Brandli was arrested at the Dover base in April. He initially was charged with transporting child pornography on computer hard drives he took with him when deployed to the United Arab Emirates last year.

Authorities said pornographic videos were discovered after another airman began using a computer that had Brandli’s external hard drive still attached to it.
