Air Force announces 1-star nominations

President Obama on Tuesday approved another nomination for the rank of brigadier general, bringing the total number of colonels nominated this week for promotion to 40. The Senate must confirm the promotions.

Col. Brian E. Dominguez has been nominated for brigadier general and a new assignment as mobilization assistant to the director of operational planning, policy and strategy, deputy chief of staff for operations, plans and requirements, Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced.

The other 39 nominees, announced Monday:

• Col. John D. Bansemer, assistant vice commander, Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

• Col. David B. Been, commander, 7th Bomb Wing, Air Combat Command, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas.

• Col. Michael T. Brewer, commander, Arnold Engineering Development Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn.

• Col. Thomas A. Bussiere, inspector general, Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, La.
