4 AF officers get new assignments

Four Air Force officers are getting new assignments, the Defense Department announced Friday:

— Maj. Gen. David W. Eidsaune, director of Air, Space and Information Operations at Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, will become director of strategic plans, programs and analyses, and director of Develop and Sustain Warfighting Systems at the Air Force Process Office, AFMC.

— Col. William J. Thornton, selected for promotion to brigadier general and currently commander of 412th Test Wing, AFMC at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., will succeed Eidsaune.

— Brig. Gen. David S. Fadok, director for policy and strategy, J-5, at U.S. Southern Command in Miami, will become commander of the Curtis E. LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education, and vice commander of Air University, part of Air Education and Training Command, at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.

— Col. Steven M. Shepro, selected for promotion to brigadier general and currently commander of 316th Wing, Air Force District of Washington at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., will succeed Fadok.
