Yokota, Peterson squadrons take A1 honors

Squadrons at Yokota Air Base, Japan, and Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., were 2009’s standout performers in the Air Force’s manpower and personnel directorate.

“The A1 community is ready, engaging, and constantly leaning forward to support Airmen and taking care of their families,” said Lt. Gen. Richard Newton, deputy chief of staff for manpower and personnel. “While celebrating the accomplishments of our entire community, I would also like to identify specific, outstanding individuals, programs, and teams.”

The General Curtis E. LeMay Award for best large category force support squadron went to Peterson’s 21st Force Support Squadron.

The 374th Force Support Squadron at Yokota won the Major General Eugene L. Eubank Award for best small category force support squadron.
