The Thunderbirds will be flying with five new team members next year, including a new commander.
Officials from the air demonstration team on Wednesday announced the team’s new makeup, as well as the air show schedule for 2010. Sixty-seven shows are slated for the U.S. and Canada.
Lt. Col. Case Cunningham will join the Thunderbirds as commander and leader for the team, and fly in the No. 1 position.
Other officers beginning their first seasons with the team are:
— Capt. Chad Shenk, right wing.
— Capt. Aaron Jelinek, opposing solo.
— Maj. John Gallemore, advance pilot and narrator.
— Capt. Thom Bowden, flight surgeon.
The returning officers are:

— Maj. Sean Gustafson, slot.
— Maj. Rick Goodman, lead solo.
— Lt. Col. Derek Routt, operations officer.
— Capt. Petrina Hanson, executive officer.
— Maj. David Lemery, maintenance officer.
— Capt. Jason McCree.
The demonstration squadron is an Air Combat Command unit composed of eight pilots, four support officers, four civilians and about 110 enlisted airmen in more than 29 Air Force specialties.
