JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — The mother of Robby the C-130 plans to make a visit to a Jacksonville school, but the principal doesn't need to worry about making room for a four-engine airplane.
Beth Mahoney, author of a children's book called "Robby the C-130 Goes to Germany," plans to be at Arnold Drive Elementary School on Thursday to present her book to students and teachers there. Many of the students at Arnold Drive Elementary are children whose parents are assigned to nearby Little Rock Air Force Base, where crews learn to fly the C-130 cargo planes.
Mahoney is herself part of such a family. Her husband is assigned to the air base, and she has three primary-school aged children of her own.
