Dover AFB gets installation excellence award
Posted : Thursday Oct 15, 2009 13:03:42 EDT
Dover Air Force Base, Del., has won the 2010 Commander-in-Chief’s Award for Installation Excellence for Air Mobility Command.
“This is an incredible base, manned by even more incredible individuals,” Col. Manson Morris, 436th Airlift Wing commander, said in a statement. “Their individual efforts and daily dedication to outstanding performance are what made this possible.”
Dover will now go forward to the Air Force-level competition. If the base is selected as one of the top two finalists, an evaluation team will return to Dover early next year. The AMC decision process included visits to the three AMC finalists: Dover, Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., and Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.
In addition to the award, Dover will receive $100,000 in quality-of-life funds.
